A Trusted Name in Furniture Repair, Refinishing, and Restoration
Three Generations: Bill Jr., Bill Sr., and Mike Schoenbauer
The late Bill Schoenbauer Sr.’s great-grandfather, German cabinetmaker Carl Schoenbauer, immigrated to the United States in 1896. The family slowly evolved into working in furniture restoration for the moving and storage industry. Bill Jr. apprenticed with his father, Francis W. Schoenbauer, Sr. for 15 years before forming Schoenbauer Furniture Service in 1991.
The company has grown from one full-time and two part-time employees in 1991 to 17 employees today. Keeping with the family tradition, the staff has included Bill’s late wife, Debbie, Bill Schoenbauer Jr., Mike Schoenbauer, Katie Schoenbauer Morgan, and son-in-law, Jon DePompa. They have expanded from a home-based business to occupying a full-service facility of over 12,000 sq. feet.
In 2007, Bill and Deb Schoenbauer acquired Georgetown Refinishing & Antique Restoration of Washington, DC. Previously owned by Dominique Huret, Georgetown Refinishing has specialized in antique and fine furniture restoration and re-upholstery since 1950. Schoenbauer Furniture has been able to carry on the time-honored traditions and high standards of Georgetown Refinishing while also growing the company over the years.
Today, Schoenbauer is known coast to coast for superior workmanship and top quality customer service for the repair, restoration, refinishing of furniture and art objects of all types, from fine antiques and family heirlooms to contemporary pieces and executive office furniture.
Schoenbauer Furniture Service is proud to be recognized as a national ‘Top 10 Furniture Restoration Company’.
